In Science today, we explored the parts of a plant! We took time looking closely at the roots and discussing their role. We then looked at the stem, leaves, and petals. 🌸🪴

All About Seeds! This week in Science, we explored the wonderful world of plants. We examined various seeds, noting their different shapes and sizes. The children were amazed to learn how even the tiniest seed can eventually grow into a huge plant!

Year 1 Geography: The Seven Continents🌏 This week, we have been learning all about the seven continents! We have been using maps to find where they are located and learning their names.

Our caterpillars have gone into their cocoons! Mrs Holden carefully helped us put them in the butterfly net. Now we have to wait and see when they will hatch into butterflies.

Year 4 continued exploring electricity in science today. The children built practical circuits, learning that any gap or break prevents the flow of power. It was great to see our "bright sparks" problem-solving to complete their connections!

In Science, we are studying plants. After a walk to explore different species, we planted our own seeds and discussed how to care for them. We are excited to observe them over time and see how they grow!

We have been learning about the different seasons and what to expect in each. To secure our learning we went on a Spring Walk, we found flowers, trees, leaves and insects that we would expect at this time.

Today in science we have planted our own sunflower seed, we are having a competition as to who can grow the tallest sunflower.

To celebrate Science Week, the children worked beautifully in their teams to design and construct sturdy bridges. There was a lot of trial and error, but the final structures were impressively strong. Well done, everyone!
