Year 1 won last week’s attendance mystery prize! To celebrate, we enjoyed homemade strawberry ice cream in the sun. We’re still leading the race by being HEROes (Here, Every day, Ready, On time). Thank you to parents for your continued support.
Art - Last week we created tessellating patterns by making our own shapes. Once we had completed these patterns we used our own colours to continue the pattern.
Know It Week We’ve been busy testing out our sticky knowledge. We did a google quiz which marked our answers as we went so we all got instant feedback on our learning.
Reception working really hard in Pen party - recapping our letter formations for our phonics sounds.
In Maths, we have been learning about shapes , rotating them to solve puzzles and creating shape pictures! Reception did a fantastic job at making their own shape pictures.
We have been learning about the different seasons and what to expect in each. To secure our learning we went on a Spring Walk, we found flowers, trees, leaves and insects that we would expect at this time.
Well done Ariana our star of the week!
We visited church and completed 3 different activities to remember and celebrate 100 years of Blackburn Diocese. We learnt about Bishop William Temple and completed our Blackpool Beach Mission! Thank you Reverend Alice and the church for a lovely event.
Fantastic balancing in PE!
Lunchtimes have been full of discovery! We’ve been experimenting with sand to find out its best properties for building. By comparing wet and dry sand, our budding engineers are learning which holds its shape best for moulding.
Time flies during DT week! While we spent more time with needles and thread making book covers than with the camera, these photos capture the amazing work produced. It has been wonderful to see the children so genuinely immersed in their craft.
Our Year 5 data scientists celebrated Earth Day with a ‘Google Quest’. They used AI to help protect a local village from flooding by tracking weather patterns and water levels. A brilliant look at how technology can solve real-world problems. Well done!
