At St. Aidan's we want every child and adult to discover and develop their unique, God-given talents so that they may flourish as individuals and build strong foundations for a bright future.
'Fulfilling potential, growing in God.'
Worship is a central and celebrated part of daily life at our Church School!
We hold a collective act of Worship every day, fostering a sense of community whether we gather in the hall for whole-school sessions or meet in class groups. Our Worship is rich with tradition and reflection; we use a small altar, light candles, share Bible stories, engage in prayer and reflection time, and sing together.
We believe in student leadership: every class has the opportunity to plan and lead a session, and our dedicated Worship Team regularly takes the lead. We are also grateful to have Reverend Alice lead a collective worship session each week.
We warmly welcome invited parents and families to share in our community spirit at the Thursday Family Celebration Worship every Thursday morning at 9:00 am.

At St. Aidan's, worship plays a vital role in bringing our vision to life. Every day, we engage in acts of worship that enable children to explore the Christian faith and see how it is practiced around the world and in the Bible. We encourage children to develop their own beliefs and respect their right to do so. Our children are exposed to a diverse range of stories, media, news, and role models from various cultures, countries, time periods, and ages. We celebrate God and His love for us through a wide array of activities that are inclusive to all. Children also get to enjoy practical and outdoor connections to worship. Our close ties with the church community allow children to be a part of something meaningful that they might otherwise miss out on in their lives. Through worship, we reinforce the belief that God loves each and every one of us, just as we are. This helps build self-esteem, confidence, and empowers children to be the best version of themselves.
We have adopted the Windows Mirrors Doors approach which we encourage as part of our collective worship.
Windows
* Opportunities for children to be aware of the world in new ways, looking out into the world.
* To wonder about life's 'WOWS. Things that are amazing.
* To think about life's 'OWS' that take us by surprise!
* Learning about life in all its fullness.
Mirrors
* Opportunities to reflect on their experiences.
* Looking inside yourself.
* Consider life's big questions and reach for some possible answers.
* Learning from life by exploring our own insights and those of others.
Doors
* Opportunities for children to respond.
* Moving onto a new path or situation.
* To do something creative to develop and apply our ideas.
* Learning to live out our beliefs and values.
Picture News
Each week, Picture News provides a platform for our pupils to explore current events in Class Worship. By focusing on British Values and Protected Characteristics, children gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. Teachers tailor the topics to suit their class's specific needs, drawing from a range of news articles available throughout the term.
An inspiring visit from the incredible Beth Tweddle
Beth Tweddle's visit beautifully embodies St. Aidan's vision of 'life in all its fullness,' showcasing how dedication and hard work can lead to achieving one's potential. Her story of perseverance and self-belief provides a powerful, real-life example for our pupils. By inspiring them to embrace the school's core values, her presence helps every child to flourish and fulfil their potential, both in and out of the classroom.
A Meaningful End to Our Year of Prayer - A huge thank you to Bishop Philip for leading the powerful finale to our Year of Prayer! He shared an inspiring message, reminding us that while the formal year has ended, it's just the beginning of a lifelong journey of prayer. We also really enjoyed the new song he introduced and look forward to singing it again in September.
What a fantastic morning we have had, bringing Church into school for our Harvest worship.
