Our Geography Show It! This week we used our Oracy skills and performed our Geography Show It. We did a News Report to show our sticky knowledge of everything we have learnt in our Local Area - Mill Hill topic.

Geography show it - It was wonderful to welcome parents and carers into school yesterday to look at our geography learning. We were able to show our mountain fact file and share our sticky knowledge with those who were able to make it.

A great afternoon today using a range of different atlases to work out the countries and their capitals around South America.

Today, we revisited our Year 1 sticky knowledge on the continents and oceans, remembering the United Kingdom is part of Europe. We deepened our learning by locating Blackburn using maps and globes.

We have started to learn about all of the countries our families are from today. We will use this to learn a new way to say hello each week.

Our Geography Show It. For the past 10 weeks we have been learning all about Zambia. Year 2 have learnt so much and showed excellent presentation skills and sticky knowledge.

We have had a brilliant afternoon looking at our atlases finding Zambia, the capital city and Livingstone. Ask us all about where this is and what we can do there.

This morning year 6 have been recapping their knowledge of capital cities, cities and rivers of the UK. We have used lots of resources and the atlas skills have been great!

Year 4 have had a brilliant morning creating their own models of a river. They will be using these to create sticky knowledge over the next few weeks. Ask us where the upper course, middle course, lower course and estuary are?

In Geography, we have been looking at maps and globes and discussing the difference. We then linked it to the previous topic of the United Kingdom and located it on the map. Finally, we put the continents on the world map and sang the song!
